VIOLIN
Jenny, as of July 2024, graduated with a First Class BMus hons degree from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Nick Miller. She gradually fostered a love of chamber music through her experiences on Pro Corda courses, where she was coached by various renowned chamber musicians including Rafael Todes, Andrew Watkinson and Matthew Jones. She has since attended classes with members of the Ebéne, Doric, Castilian and Alban Berg Quartets with her quartet, the Slate Quartet, and has performed at Kings Place London, the Petworth Festival, Highgrove (the King’s private residence) and the Royal Festival Hall. The Slate Quartet have also recently released their interpretation of Brett Dean’s String Quartet No.1 “Eclipse” in January 2025 with Luminate Records.
She has played professionally with the English National Ballet, Nu Civilisation and the Thursford Christmas Spectacular orchestras and in 2023 performed in a masterclass with Jennifer Pike as part of the ESTA teaching conference in Cardiff. Other solo recitals have included concerts at Norwich Cathedral, Southwold Arts Festival and the Pimlott Foundation.
Jenny enjoys a variation of music styles and genres – in July 2024 she worked with jazz artist Emma Rawicz to perform her new compositions in a concert at Pizza Express Live in Soho which they then recorded at Maida Vale Studios in September 2024 and performed at the Vortex in April. She also is interested in the merging of electronics and music, having performed several Spatial Sound demonstrations for Southby Studios.
She is very grateful to the Harrison Frank Foundation for granting her the loan of an Italian Marchetti violin.
